What to do if you're feeling overwhelmed.

What to do if you’re feeling overwhelmed.

I looked over at the clock on the stove. 8:53 on a Saturday night, I’m cleaning up supper, washing the pan used to make macaroni and cheese. I wonder how many other people are standing at the sink in their kitchen on Saturday night.

I’m in the thick of it.

Having small children is fun, but exhausting. In one moment, I look at my precious offspring and feel a deep love in my heart that I don’t even have words to describe the depth. And the next breath, I feel completely overwhelmed, frustrated by my lack of productivity and my long list of tasks that won’t get done because I’m busy cleaning up the third meal of the day.

I feel overwhelmed.

Are you feeling like your life is too much? Do you have too many things on your to do list and there aren't possibly enough hours in the day to get it all done?

Are you overwhelmed?

At the end of your rope?

I get like this too.. and too often if I’m not careful.

There are things that can help.

If you’re feeling any of those things, I’ve got hope for you. The good news is there are tools that are FREE that can help relieve some of this overwhelm.

It might be time for a brain dump.

This means giving your brain some space and a relief from all that mental clutter.

Think about all of the thoughts we have every day. It's a TON. In fact, Google told me humans have over 6,000 thoughts a day. No wonder why we’re tired!

It’s time to clear some clutter from your brain, and you’re not going to believe how simple this is.

It’s a brain dump.

Grab a pen and a piece of paper, set a timer for 10 minutes and just write. It doesn't matter what you write, or how, just let all the thoughts and ideas and everything that is in your brain flow out. If you want to do more or less than 10 minutes, feel free, but I would do a minimum of 5 minutes to get the full effect.

Iff you want a fancy downloadable handout to help you with this, join my 3 day clutter challenge.

Now, get rid of it.

The best part of the brain dump? Getting rid of all that crap you just dumped onto the paper.

Burn it.

Rip it up.

Throw it in the garbage.

Just get rid of it. Take a deep breath in, and release it.

How do you feel?
